WHAT IS LEAN MANUFACTURING?
Lean Manufacturing is a team-based systematic approach to identifying and eliminating wasteful or non-value-adding activities within your manufacturing organization. Lean is a whole new way of thinking, and should be considered much more than a series of programs or techniques. It must become a whole system approach in order to create a new operating philosophy, which focuses on eliminating all non-value adding activities from order entry to receipt of payment.

WHY BECOME LEAN?
Lead time and WIP reduction, Quality improvement, enhanced flexibility, reduced transactions, simplified scheduling, improved communications, reduced costs, better on-time deliveries, increased sales, and improved space utilization are all possible through the effective planning and implementation of Lean Manufacturing.  It is a structured approach to eliminating different types of waste from your entire business process.

What are the signs a company needs Lean?
• You are making too much, too soon, for your customers
• Projects stop when an employee is away or you're out of stock
• Employees on the shop floor spend lots of time waiting
• Capital is tied up in inventory
• Batch sizes are much larger than consumption rates
• Lots of rework
• Many moves and storage steps in your production process


What is Cellular Flow?
Cellular flow is the linking of manual and machine operations into the most efficient combination of resources to maximize value-added content while minimizing waste.

What is TPM?
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a process to maximize the productivity of your equipment for its entire life. TPM fosters a workforce environment where employees work to reduce equipment downtime to zero while improving quality and capacity.

What is Six Sigma?
Six Sigma is a measure of variability in a given business process. When a process is operating at Six Sigma levels, output variability is so low that the process is considered virtually defect-free. An effective Six Sigma deployment will help your company reduce costs, improve quality and overall customer satisfaction.
