Training: Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is the process that maximizes the productivity of equipment for its entire life cycle and will extend the life of the equipment. Through the participation of all employees, TPM creates an environment that encourages improvement efforts in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and creativity. Participants will learn how the TPM process is integrated with other Lean tools to increase productivity. Participants will learn how to gather and analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to determine constraints. They will learn about the 6 major equipment-related losses and how to minimize them to increase OEE. Case Studies and a simple simulation are included in this training.

Prerequisite: The Principles of Lean Manufacturing

Kaizen Event: A TPM Kaizen event includes the training as identified above without the simulation. In addition, participants will identify a piece of equipment and apply the TPM tools to this piece of equipment. As many equipment improvements and upgrades as possible will be implemented during the event. In addition, participants will put together a plan to spread TPM throughout the facility.

Prerequisite: The Principles of Lean Manufacturing
