Training: This workshop will describe the difference between push and pull systems. It will teach participants how to identify opportunities to introduce pull systems based on standard criteria in order to meet customer requirements. Participants will learn to locate and size supermarkets, calculate order points and reorder quantities, select and implement pull signals and describe ways to monitor and fine tune a pull system. Participants will utilize a simple case study to analyze data and design a pull system to meet customer demand.

Prerequisite: The Principles of Lean Manufacturing

Recommended Prerequisite: Value Stream Mapping

Implementation: A Pull/Kanban implementation includes the training as identified above. In addition, a pilot pull system will be implemented, as appropriately identified.
