Training
Event: Participants will learn how to link and balance machine
and manual operations to achieve smooth and Steady product flow to
meet customer demand. Participants will learn to group products
into product families. Participants will learn about ‘takt
time’ (or customer demand). They will also learn about the
methodology and tools to design a cell or flow throughout linked
processes to meet take time. A simple assembly simulation is
included to demonstrate the benefit of Cellular Design.
Prerequisite: The Principles of Lean Manufacturing
Kaizen Event: A Cellular/Flow
Manufacturing Kaizen event includes the classroom training as
identified above without the simulation and the detailed design of
a Cell (or product flow) for a product family. This event includes
as many actual changes to the production floor as can be
accomplished during the event.
Prerequisite: The Principles of Lean Manufacturing
